Championship winning Volvo S40 joins the HSCC Super Touring Car Challenge.

To many what was the ultimate Super Tourer has returned to British tracks after a gap of 17 years.
A TWR built Volvo S40 now in the hands of experienced historic racer Jason Minshaw has joined the grid of the 2016 HSCC Super Touring Car Challenge.
This long awaited car has been painstakingly restored to its original condition and has already turned heads as its 5-cylinder engine screamed around Donington Park in the first round of the series.
This car was originally driven by Rickard Rydell on his way to winning the 1998 British Touring Car Championship. It later went onto race in various Scandinavian championships up until 2002 after which it was purchased by Jason Minshaw in 2014.
Jason gave the car its first track run at the Goodwood 74th Members Meeting in front of an appreciative crowd. “I want to go again!” Beamed Jason after he gave the car its first run. “That is the best car I have driven around Goodwood and I have driven a few”
He went on, “I was expecting it to be more of a handful, but found it great to drive and really responsive.”
Jason secured a respectable third in class in its first competitive outing but an engine issue prevented him from making the start of race two.
The Volvo is expected to join the rest of the Super Tourers at the next round of the series at the Brands Hatch SuperPrix in July.
